Bridge to Success
Waterbury, CT
Wendy Tyson-Wood shares on how the Community Leadership Program has impacted her life and her realization that societal transformation will come by supporting people in being truly vulnerable, living into their full selves, and being ok with making mistakes. Wendy, a current candidate for public office, speaks on her deep commitment to her community as well as her work at Inroads, as Chair of the Education Committee for the Greater Waterbury NAACP, and as a volunteer with Bridge to Success.
"In 1969 my sister died. She drowned. I was six years old. It was community + family members, school, church and Waterbury that helps us through. Today at 55, I am the democratic candidate in the district where my sister was laid to rest. It is her story, my journey with CLP Cohort 18 in 2016, that empowers me to build and engage the future communities in Waterbury.
Loving+Native +Proud Waterbian,
