"I come from a big family who always show support and love. A family where I know I can count on them when things get tough whether it’s financial, emotional or whatever. Even if we didn’t agree on certain things it didn’t stop us from showing up. Once my dad got deported it huge impact on me and my three sisters. It made me see things differently after that. It made me question how many other people were going through the same thing. And it made me question how many people had a support system. If they had a family to have their back. It made me appreciate my family and my privilege. It pushed me to help others. It pushed me to help and support the immigrant community. It's important to have that support system."
