CT Early Childhood Alliance
Hartford, CT

Merrill Gay, the Director of the CT Early Childhood Alliance, speaks on his more than 2 decades of work on early childhood education and numerous initiatives with the Graustein Memorial Fund. Starting with his involvement as a parent and community organizer, and into positions of leadership, he shares on the powerful use of people's personal stories in policy change and organizing, local and statewide work, and thoughts on addressing the economic and racial segregation of CT towns and districts. Merrill also speaks on his work with the New Britain Early Childhood Council, serving on the New Britain Board of Education, and how his own upbringing influenced his path in life.

Note: The full length interview is long because it was conducted outside of the 25th Anniversary events in an effort to include more perspectives on the early years of WCGMF work.
